Some of her collaborations include working with Grammy Nominee Gospel Artist Fred Hammond as a songwriter/arranger/background vocals on nine tracks, the soulful R&B songstress Angie Stone, the most popular, multi-platinum selling female R&B group Destiny’s Child, Verity gospel group Virtue, Ben Tankard, Jazz musician Norman Brown, and Shirley Murdock, just to name a few. She also had the privilege of singing background on Tyrese hit single, ‘Lately’. This talented and anointed Singer-song writer decided to release her latest single titled " BE WHO U ARE " in conjunction with Melodream Records as the first song of the year. Her return to the musical front line has been highly anticipated by her faithful fans and followers. When asked about the purpose of this song, Juanita responded The inspiration behind "Be who you are" came from my own personal struggles with acceptance throughout my life. Rather it was the color of my skin, not dressing trendy enough, or not being able to talk with enough slang or swag. When it came to religious beliefs or even my choice of friends, I struggled with trying to measure up all the time. The many failed attempts made me decide to run away from it all. As a teenage runaway, while on the streets I met kids from different walks of life, black, white, Spanish, Native American Indian and mixed. Some came from rich homes, some were preachers kids, some were born to drug addicted parents and became involved with prostitution to make money to survive. I soon learned at a young age, that we all experience pain, and desire to be loved, appreciated and accepted. The truth of the matter is that we will ALWAYS fail at trying to please others or trying to be anyone other than ourselves. So, My ULTIMATE message is to "LOVE IN SPITE OF" our differences. Embrace yourself and just "Be Who You Are."
The new material was recorded and co-signed by CEO Michael Walker of Melodream Records who was quoted saying 'As the growth process of this artist has been a smooth one, we are blessed to be working with Juanita on her journey'.
