Changing bulbs also means having the right replacement. Light bulbs come in a wide array of sizes, voltage requirements, wattage and sockets. Putting the wrong bulb in can be a recipe for disaster.
"Just one example. If you have a low wattage fixture and put in a high wattage bulb, you have a fire hazard," Mr. Cowan said. "If you need a high wattage bulb but put in a low watt bulb, you won't have the proper amount of light."
In addition to simply changing blown bulbs, the company can switch out existing lights for more energy efficient lighting. Going from incandescent to LED or compact fluorescent bulbs can lead to a real savings in electricity consumption.
"You are also getting lights that last longer than the tungsten filament light. LEDs can last for a decade," he said. “You get a double savings - less power which means a cheaper bill and longer-lasting light bulbs which means less maintenance over time."
