April 2, 2015 - Double GRAMMY Award-nominated pop superstar, Ariana Grande, announced this week that she’s adding new dates and cities to her already successful North American Honeymoon Tour.
Grande’s second on-the-road outing, aimed at supporting her Platinum-certified #1 studio album, My Everything, has already played to huge sold out houses across the U.S. since the tour kicked off in February 2015. The addition of new dates means a visit to nearly 40 U.S. and Canadian cities across the summer and tops off what has already been an outstanding 12 months for the pop princess.
The new tour dates will also feature Latin singer-songwriter Prince Royce as special guest. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, April 4, though Citi® card members will have access to pre-sale tickets prior to that.
While 2013 saw Grande’s first full-length album Yours Truly, debut at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, 2014 welcomed Grande as only one of four female singers in history to ever have 3 songs chart simultaneously in the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 (the other three are pop consort Iggy Azalea, Adele and Ashanti). The release of the My Everything lead single, ‘Problem’, featuring Azalea, also saw the 21 year old become the youngest woman to debut with over 400,000 copies sold in her first week.
Add to that ‘Best Song’ and ‘Best Female Artist’ prizes at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards, the aforementioned GRAMMY award noms for ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’ and ‘Best Pop Duo/Group Performance’ for ‘Bang Bang’ with Jessie J and Niki Minaj, a further high profile performance spot on the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards, and the announcement of a recurring role on new FOX TV series Scream Queens, and there’s much for the star who rose to prominence on the Nickelodeon show, Victorious, to be smiling about.
Now it seems there’s little stopping Grande, who’ll be travelling to Paris, France, in May to start the second leg of the European Honeymoon Tour, which finishes up in Barcelona the following month. When she touches down again in North America, her new concert dates will begin at Amalie Arena, Tampa, Florida, on July 16.
