Ahead of Cannes, Wonderphil Entertainment has announced the acquisition of a range of high-profile titles they’ll be representing on French sand - including family comedy Gibby, starring Sean Patrick Flannery, and Josh Meyers laffer Last Supper.
Company has also acquired revenge thriller Branded, starring brothers Jeremy London (Mallrats) and Jason London (Dazed & Confused), for US release this year. Film tells of a young man, living in exile for the killing of his brother. Then one day he receives a mysterious letter that claims to be from the late sibling, and sets off on a journey to discover the truth.
Last Supper stars Meyers, Penny Marshall, and Eddie Griffin, and tells of two lunatics that escape from a mental institution and document their quest to find a princess.
Gibby, starring Flannery, Shannon Elizabeth, and Vivica. A.Fox, fixes on a teenager’s friendship with a Capuchin monkey (played by Crystal from The Hangover Part 2 and the Night at the Museum trilogy). Two sequels are already in development.
US Release dates to be announced.
Shingle, led by independent filmmaker Phil Gorn, has also acquired drama Curveball, a sports drama starring acclaimed actress Lynn Whitfield, about the star pitcher of a high school baseball team who makes one wrong decision which quickly curveballs into a life of unexpected mayhem.
Wonderphil’s recent crop of releases include Sex, Marriage and Infidelity and Richard: The Lionheart starring Malcolm McDowell.
