Traditionally speaking, the Miami Open tennis tournament has been one of the most attended tournaments in the world outside of the four majors. The tournament brings out all the greatest stars in the sport as they look to walk away with the championship. This year has been more of the same. Defending men’s champion Novak Djokovic is the No. 1 seed in the men’s draw, while defending women’s champion Serena Williams is the No. 1 seed in the other draw. The tournament which is in its final stretch is being played at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park and will conclude on April 5.

We are into the fourth round of the 2015 Miami Open presented by Itau and some of the best players are still vying for their chance to win the title. Top seeded Djokovic is still alive, as well as No. 8 seeded Tomas Berdych, No. 4 seeded Kei Nishikori, and No. 5 seeded Milos Raonic. On the women’s side, Williams is still in the tournament, as are No. 3 seeded Simona Halep, No. 9 seeded Andrea Petkovic, and No. 16 seeded Venus Williams.
The Tennis Center at Crandon Park is a hardcourt that has been home to this tournament each year since it opened in 1985. Since the tournament was started, the men’s tournament has seen some of the greatest players of all time win it all including Ivan Lendl, Andre Agassi, Michael Chang, Pete Sampras, Thomas Muster, Roger Federer, Andy Roddick, and Nikolay Davydenko. Agassi holds the record for the most wins with 6, but Djokovic is two titles away from tying that record.
On the women’s side, stars like Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert, Steffi Graf, Venus Williams, Kim Clijsters, and Martina Hingis have all won titles, with Serena earning the most championships with 7 including two straight.
