Delayed Immigration Reform may break families in US

Immigration Reform Vital for US Economy
As many as 100,000 Americans lose upon either their spouses or their parent every year in the country in the name of deportation. It is estimated that more than eleven million immigrants are not documented with any legalized or recognized agency. Deporting these could mean a collective loss; not only the undocumented immigrants but also the nation may suffer.

A report suggests that as many as 100,000 Americans lose upon either their spouses or their parent every year in the country in the name of deportation.

The statistics

The land of US has more than eleven million immigrants who are not documented with any legalized or recognized agency.

About 25% of this population are either blessed with children or they have a spouse. There have been cases when husband and wife or parent and child have been separated after very many years of authority reliving that their presence is illegal in the country.

In a similar case a lady whose husband was initiated for deportation had to spend as much as $10,000 on paying legal fee to the lawyers who she thought could help her in saving her husband.

Out of this population, almost half of them are children of undocumented immigrants. And more than 80% of them were born on American land.

The story of deportation

In 2012, more than 400,000 undocumented immigrants were deported from US. This number came down to less than 400,000 in 2013.

Deportation does not leave people who have been working as a competent member of a “Post team” and winning Pulitzer Prize.

There have been spouses who have not have spent huge sum of money for saving their better halves form being deported but have pleaded everyone they could possibly do.

There are sentimental fathers who have been into menial jobs like cleaning up toilets but could manage to send their children take up a degree from reputed Institutions like Marquette University.

Waiting for reform

A study indicates that there are not less than 12 million living in the fear of being deported from US. Some of the undocumented immigrants opine that this deportation would mean a permanent separation form the family members because they will not be allowed to come back to US again.

Republican Paul Ryan says, “The question is not about fixing broken immigration system but it is about the timing of doing it.”

The crisis

Obama Administration deports more than 1100 undocumented immigrants from US every day. But, the bigger question asked by the experts is about the separation it creates with the families.

In spite of odds, people believe that they are still leading a better life than their own countries. They could give higher education to their children, which in some as had to get paused because of an indecisive condition.

For the benefit of the nation

The Partnership for a New American Economy informs that people who came here from other countries, either them or their children founded 40% of the American Fortune 500 companies. These in turn create a source of job openings and many other facilities for Americans. Therefore, a reform in Immigration policy cannot be avoided.

Deporting those who have been here for years could mean a collective loss. Not only the undocumented immigrants but the nation may suffer if an immediate step in this area is not taken by the Administration.
