Wake Counseling Expanding Couples Counseling Due to Positive Response

Wake Counseling and Mediation (WCM) now welcomes new couples' referrals for psychotherapy - expanding to their wide range of helpful services. Today, you will find many highly-qualified staff at WCM includes Connie Horne. She is just one of the many licensed couples counselors on the team at Wake Counseling and Mediation.

As a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), Connie also holds an MA (Master of Arts Counseling degree) from Governors State University in Illinois. She knows the unique needs of the LGBTQA community and also seeks to help any couple – whether hetero or bi-sexual. However, Connie Horne MA, LPC specializes in both individual and couples counseling and also offers her expertise in sexuality and gender issues making her services ideal for those same-sex spousal challenges.

“I work with the LGBTQA community to help educate and empower people who are often not seen as equal in some settings. I have seen many cases where family members and friends struggle with mental illness and/or sexual identity issues. I know what it feels like to feel powerless in trying to help someone you care about receive the help they need. I want to be there to reassure others that they are doing the best they can.”

Other team members at Wake Counseling and Mediation include Judy Stubanas, MA, LPC, Dr. Shanita Brown, NCC, LPCA, Manpreet Lehal, M.S., NCC, LPCS and Sara Meghan Walter, Ph.D., NCC, LPCA. Each therapist at WCM provides a different approach to help identify and improve the problems in your relationship. All under the watchful eye of a trained professional, you can release your thoughts and feelings without the fear of judgment.

Wake Counseling and Mediation is in the business of meeting the individual needs of everyone in the family. Children, teens and adults are all able to get the care they need with services that include anxiety treatment, ADD/ADHD therapies, depression treatment, couples and family therapy – and now family & divorce mediation!

Recent clinical studies can confirm that talking to a couple’s counselor with your partner can help the relationship. One team of researchers found that by simply being more aware of the needs of their partners, spouses were able to boost relationship satisfaction, lower emotional stress levels and also improve their overall perception of the relationship.

Since opening, Wake Counseling and Mediation aimed to help children and adults of all ages manage their emotional health challenges with individual mental health services. But now, different couples and family mediation options have been added to the services. This includes counseling services exclusive to couples designed to improve relationship communication, feelings of appreciation, boredom, infidelity and overall unhappiness.

Wake Counseling and Mediation offices are located at 1148 Executive Circle, suite 6 in Cary, NC (close to Duck Donuts & Trader Joe’s), and 364 Raleigh Street, Holly Springs, NC (across the street from the Town Hall building and close to the Holly Springs Public Library).
