16 Year Old Creates Diy Maker Social Enterprise, And Donates 15% Of Profit To Fight Multiple Sclerosis

Luther Taylor, a 16-year-old teen from South Florida came up with the idea for DIY maker art lunchboxes for kids when he realized two things: that kids frequently lose their lunchboxes, leaving parents exasperated, and that there was nothing available in the market for children to easily express themselves through customizing something they carry daily. His main motivation, however, was looking to entrepreneurship as a solution to help combat Multiple Sclerosis. His mother was diagnosed with the horrific disease in 2001, and the teen wanted to create a social venture that allowed him to achieve his dream of owning his own business creating products that fused passion, purpose, and mission.

Luke's Boxes is a monthly subscription where once a month, your child will receive a themed box that includes a blank lunch box and all the decorative patches required for your child to create their own personalized masterpiece. 15% of all proceeds goes to help fight Multiple Sclerosis. It is currently available at www.lukesboxes.com for $25/month, which includes a charitable donation. Larry Klein, Director of The Oxford Tradition, had nothing but high praise for the teen's efforts, which came out of a class project. "It's a great social venture going towards a good cause."

Finding ways to create a social impact while building a sustainable business can be a difficult endeavor for many, let alone a teenager. But fueling his drive is the dedication to his loved ones and family, and leaving the world slightly better than how he found it. Whether that is combating Multiple Sclerosis, encouraging child expression, or learning entrepreneurship. You can support the Luke's Boxes Kickstarter Campaign at http://kck.st/2LKFzUB
