EveryLibrary’s Summer Reading Read-A-Thon Fundraiser

EveryLibrary is Supporting Summer Reading Across the Country While Raising Money to Support Libraries with Nation's Largest Summer Read-A-Thon

EveryLibrary is excited to announce the nation’s largest summer read-a-thon to benefit libraries and encourage children to fight the summer slide by reading twenty minutes a day throughout July.

Read For Libraries is a program that encourages reading, builds literacy skills, and promotes a sense of civic pride by fundraising for EveryLibrary. EveryLibrary is a national non-profit that fights for library funding so that children have access to reading material and learning opportunities all year long. As an added incentive, participating children are eligible to earn up to $500 in Amazon Gift Cards and a Kindle Fire for their individual fundraisers!

The main focus of Read For Libraries is for communities to come together to commit to improving reading skills for students. To that end, Read For Libraries promises to be a fun, exciting journey for all participants as they begin a personal Reading Adventure that challenges each reader to read just 20 minutes a day throughout the month of July.

It’s easy to get involved! First, we ask that you sign your children up to be a part of the program by June 29th. You can sign them up at readforlibraries.org/join. Once your child is registered, we’ll send you a link to their personal fundraising page within a few days where they can record their reading times and raise money to support libraries. Registering early will allow your child time to set up their personal fundraising page before July. They can continue to raise money throughout July, but the sooner they sign up, the sooner we can send them their personal fundraising page and the larger prize they can earn.

This program will help fight against the dreaded summer slide by encouraging and rewarding children to read just 20 minutes a day. Studies show that students who have a habit of reading just 20 minutes a day will reach the 90th percentile in academic achievement. They will be years ahead of many of their peers by the time they graduate high school and they will be far more likely to go on to higher education and lead more successful careers.

Sign up your child today and help them get ahead while supporting our nation’s libraries at readforlibraries.org
