Innovation Learning to Provide Before and After School Programming for Smithville School District in Missouri

Innovation Learning is pleased to announce that they have been chosen to provide before and after school programming for Smithville School District at their three elementary schools in Missouri.

Innovation Learning offers a very unique service in the field of extended day programming. They provide fun, active and brain-stimulating activities so students succeed socially and academically and are better prepared for their innovative futures. Simply put, Innovation Learning creates tomorrow’s innovators today.

When students are engaged in learning, there is movement, laughter and most importantly, fun. They are up and out of their seats involved in activities that promote thought, creativity, and discovery. Students are busy, self-disciplined, and best of all, willing to take responsibility for their own learning because they understand that what they are doing is important.

Providing our students with activities that are innovative and challenging as well as purposeful is crucial if we want them to be engaged in learning. Although there are many different factors to consider when designing instruction meant to engage students of various ages, there are some easy-to-implement universal strategies that can be used to increase the engagement potential in instructional activities.

Innovation Learning’s team has decades of experience both in the classroom and as parents. They have worked to combine this know-how by providing a program that offers academic support and skill building while also incorporating fun and excitement.

Innovation Learning’s programs have been designed to improve the academic achievement of the children they work with. However, they also know that these children can be their pickiest customers and if they are not having fun, they will never get the opportunity to truly make a difference. This knowledge and understanding is the foundation for all Innovative Learning’s programs.

Innovation Learning builds strong relationships with their partner schools. They use a Project Based Learning (PBL) approach using the Buck Institutes’ Gold Standard. Their curriculum focuses on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) in such a way that children have fun while they learn.

Innovation Learning will teach important 21st century skills to students of Smithville School District in Missouri. These skills include creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking as part of a program deliberately designed to provide opportunities to learn and practice these skills.

When students feel more motivated to learn, in other words, when engagement is at a high level, they perform better academically, improve classroom behavior, and gain a higher sense of self-esteem.
