Improving the livelihood of people in developing countries by improving the quality and length of life of working horses and donkeys creates sustainable health programs for animals by training local veterinarians to provide long-term solutions and establish regular contact with animal owners.
Apryle VetMD is Apryle Horbal, VMD. Apryle Horbal is an expert in equine dentistry. She is pursuing her Diploma from the European College of Veterinary Dentistry in the Equine Specialty. Horbal has her Doctorate from University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Horbal continues to conduct important research into the development of equine cheek teeth infundibulae, blood supply to the structures of the teeth during development, and maintenance of the vascular structures following eruption.
Horbal has presented to the European Congress of Veterinary Dentistry regarding computed tomography, micro-CT, and histopathological study of equine cheek teeth infundibular defects. Also she presented to the BEVA/EVDC Research Symposium at the University of Bristol, titled: A CT and pathological study of equine cheek teeth infundibular defects.
Horbal served as Veterinary Medical Officer for the United States Department of Agriculture - National Animal Health Emergency Response Corps. Horbal has a BA in Biological Basis of Behavior, cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania College of Arts and Sciences.
