Integrity Home Pro Surveys Kitchen Remodeling Trends

Integrity Home Pro highlights some of the most significant aesthetic trends in kitchen remodeling.

Like anything pertaining to aesthetics, kitchen remodeling trends tend to be cyclical. What is considered to be stylish today may appear dated in just a few years’ time. The challenge for homeowners looking to maximize remodeling value—and to prevent the need to remodel again in the short term—is to opt for a look that is stylish but also timeless. In a new statement to the press, Integrity Home Pro offers some tips for doing exactly that.

“Picking something that is trendy or flash-in-the-pan can prove problematic, because your kitchen may look old-fashioned and musty again in just a short span of time,” comments Danny Peterson, founder of Integrity Home Pro. “Think of all the people who invested in avocado green walls or pink furniture, only to see those fads diminish and become rather silly just a few years later.”

Homeowners looking to pick something timeless and elegant for their kitchen remodel are encouraged to start with color schemes. “When it comes to painting your kitchen, we recommend white or something close to it,” says Peterson. “Neutral colors do not go out of fashion. They maintain a classic look. They go with any décor you care to bring in, and they also enhance the natural lighting and brightness in the room.”

Countertop materials are also a concern. “Anything with that classic, refined sensibility is going to withstand the test of time,” Peterson remarks. “Granite and quartz are both enduringly popular in urban settings, while butcher block is always in-style in rural areas.”

The style of appliances is another big concern for homeowners who are remodeling their kitchens. Peterson says stainless steel is the way to go here. “More than 80 percent of homeowners favor stainless steel, and it’s been the most popular option for as long as anyone can remember,” he says. The Integrity Home Pro founder says stainless steel is the best option for sinks, as well.

“The important thing for homeowners is to ensure that you’re investing in a remodel that will add value over the long haul—not just in the immediate future,” Peterson concludes.
