Brooklyn, NY, USA -- Hip hop veteran and preeminent hype man Spliff Star announced a new release today -- "BIG RINGS" - SPLIFF STAR a.k.a. MR. LEWIS' first single, ft. BUSTA RHYMES & BUGS KALHUNE. The release drops on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 on Spliff Star's own label PAPERROCK RECORDS. "BIG RINGS" will be available on iTunes on the release date.
Born and raised in East Flatbush, New York, SPLIFF STAR, a.k.a. Mr. Lewis - is the world renowned Hype Man known and respected for killing stages, spitting lyrics and creating iconic characters in videos as well as on the big screen, since 1998. Loyal and dedicated to his career alongside his brother in music, Busta Rhymes, he is an artist in his own right. Long overdue, his fans demands have finally been heard and the highly anticipated album entitled, "The Departure" is scheduled for release this summer. And of course, no Spliff Star project would be complete, without a single featuring his friend and musical mentor, of over 20 years. His 1st single, "Big Rings", is an urban smash. It's the culmination of what happens when a hard hitting horn and baseline are merged with an 808. Produced by Static, they created a street anthem that is reminiscent of an old school track; these two are best known for.
Now poised to blaze his own trail, he has been developing and grooming several artists for his label, Paperrock Records. With a roster of talent hailing from Brooklyn to Los Angeles; he is determined to give other artists the same opportunities, he was given. He is currently working on releasing singles for Bugs Kalhune, which the label's first artist, with a major release.
