Hindustan University to conduct - Young Scientist India 2015 Competition

Chennai, Jan 5 - To Search for young talent in the field' of Science and Technology in India, Hindustan University will be organising a competition titled Hindustan University Young Scientist India - 2015. This competition is open to all school students from standard 9 to standard 12.

The entry is free and the project submission deadline is January 18. The Young Scientist Program is designed to promote science awareness to high school students', to increase their understanding of science and to attract them into scientific careers through activities emphasizing hands-on research and encourage the participants what interest them to connect and collaborate with others to new discoveries. This competition will be run at the Hindustan University Premises by Spacekidz. This is the second edition of the competition. Last year saw the participation of 100 students shot listed from an entry of nearly 1000 projects for the competition.

This year the completion will be held under categories Aeronautical Sciences Electrical Electronics Robotics Space Sciences. The competition is open to students from the IX, X, XI, & XII, irrespective of board, but, within the Indian territory. One student can participate in one category only. This is purely an individual student participation and Not A Team Event.

Students are encouraged to work on a project (Make Live Models/Power point Presentatio — something Creative and Innovative to support their chosen topic) within one of the five categories specified above. Students will have to fill in the online application form and along with the same submit their project's online. Students who are unable to send their entries/projects online, can neatly type / print and send 2 sets of copies of the application form and their PROJECT, to Space Kidz India office either by post/courier.

Students will have to write about their project in the below manner, Category of the Project - Aeronautical/ Electrical/ Electronics/Robotics or Space sciences, Title of the Project, Brief Project Innovation / Summary, Explain its Uniqueness and How it can be used for the benefit of our Country/People/ Community. Each school can field in 1-5 students — i.e. one participant in each category and send their: entries to Space Kidz India through online registration, Post or Courier.

The entry for the competiton is free. One winner will be chosen and awarded the title "Young Scientist India - 2015". The winner, and the winning school principal or science teacher will be awarded an all paid space camp at NASA, along with a pilot training session in the united states. Runner up and the respective school principal or science teacher will be awarded a return ticket to Malaysia. All the finalists will be awarded trophies and certificates. All the participants will be awarded certificates.
