The app, which is available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch as well as Android, Alarmy is not an ordinary alarm app, and with it, there is no danger of oversleeping and being late for work or for an important appointment.
Once the alarm sounds, there is only one way to turn it off. Rather than a simple off switch that can be pressed and then ignored as users fall gently back to sleep, Alarmy can only be shut off if the user gets up and takes a photo of a predetermined location.

One the alarm rings, users must go to the registered location, and take a photograph. Of course, there is room for flexibility. While a user can certainly register a photo of the bedside table, so the alarm can be shut off without leaving the bed, that would defeat the purpose. The idea is to set a difficult location, which forces the user out of bed to shut off the alarm
