CHROME: The Series is an upcoming action adventure fantasy show about an abused robot slave Chrome who, with the help of a repairbot named Perdix, played by Natasha Coppola-Shalom, challenges the dark forces of her cruel masters.
Who is actress Natasha Coppola-Shalom?
Natasha Coppola-Shalom is the grandniece of Francis Ford Coppola and first cousin once removed of famous Roman and Sophia Coppola. She is Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage’s niece. And as the world dynasty name would suggest, Natasha Coppola-Shalom is ready to carry the torch of her famous family of filmmakers and performing artists.
Natasha committed to acting professionally at a young age, attending New York City's famed Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School and, from there, heading straight to attend the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in the United Kingdom, a world class school known for rejecting thousands upon thousands of wanna-be actors and accepting less than one percent of its applicants based on talent alone. Natasha Coppola-Shalom’s fellow BOVTS alumni include Oscar-winners Olivia Colman (The Favorite, Fleabag), Sir Daniel Day-Lewis (Lincoln, There Will Be Blood), and Jeremy Irons (Reversal of Fortune, The Lion King).
Natasha strove to add more technical acting skills to her admittedly natural talent. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts with honors in Acting from London's Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, the cutting-edge university that boasts some of our most popular and highly regarded actors and TV personalities as alumni; from the forever-in-our-hearts Star Wars princess Carrie Fisher, Gael García Bernal (Mozart In The Jungle, The Motocycle Diaries) and Taylor Swift’s live-in love Joe Alwyn, to UK’s most popular talk show host and nine-time BAFTA TV Award winner Graham Norton.
Natasha Coppola-Shalom was then selected to be a part of the 69th Cannes Film Festival and her film Extra Innings won Best Feature Film at the 2019 Manhattan Film Festival. She just wrapped filming Crabs in a Bucket with Golden Globe-winning Entourage alum Jeremy Piven, Oscar nominee Bruce Dern and Taryn Manning (Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black).
It was during a recent hot summer in New York during the filming of the comedy Charlie Boy starring Greg Kritikos, Joanne Scorcia with Kelly Le Brock and Academy Award nominee Burt Young, that Natasha caught the eye of director Timothy Hines. Hines, a feminist director known for female-led and socially conscious films such as 10 Days In A Madhouse and War Of The Worlds The True Story, was introduced to Natasha by Charlie Boy co-star Dave Morrissey Jr. and he decided to cast her in a walk on role in the film.

“When I saw Natasha’s dailies,” recalls Charlie Boy producer and Timothy Hines’ creative partner Susan Goforth, “I said ‘Who is that?’ Timothy said, ‘that’s Dave’s friend Natasha. She was great to work with’ And I said, having no idea she is part of one of the greatest filmmaking dynasties in the world, I said ‘I love her choices. This is what I'm always looking for. I want her. I want her for our next picture.’ It really is a producer’s dream to find an actress with such adept qualities as Natasha.”
“When I first envisioned the character of the robot Perdix, I imagined her as subservient in the way that Merlin served King Arthur in The Once And Future King,” explains Chrome creator Timothy Hines, “I cast Natasha Coppola-Shalom because, besides having extraordinary acting abilities, she has a natural humble, self-effacing quality that expresses kindness and respect for others. So I was surprised when I first heard her vocal interpretation of this small, seemingly insignificant yet ultimately powerful repairbot character. She immediately demonstrated a strength and nobility along with the gentle qualities I had intended. By the second sentence I realized she understood the character Perdix in ways I hadn’t; she had seen into this creator robot, this manipulator’s soul, so to speak, extracting a multitude of facets to the character’s personality. Her performance is sublime.”
In Chrome: The Series, Natasha’s character Perdix is a repair robot who comes in contact with the rogue pleasure model robot Chrome in the very first episode. The two then proceed to aid each other in kicking ass against the evil powers of an oppressive world of injustice. A 20-year-in-the-making project, Natasha Coppola-Shalom filmed her part of Chrome in 2019 and early 2020, right before the Covid-19 pandemic shut down all movie and TV production.
“We lucked out in getting Natasha’s part captured before the coronavirus lockdown,” explains Chrome producer Donovan Le, “that was pure grace from the universe, because posting an action adventure like this takes thousands of hours and that kind of work, it’s absolutely impossible now.” Line producer Dominick Martini adds, “We are all just so grateful to have completed her part and to be healthy and safe at home.”

“Hey, I’m just happy for all the good fortune that has come together for this project,” affirms Chrome associate producer Dave Morrissey Jr., “Tim and Susan have done an incredible job. The series is minding-blowing good. I can’t tell you, just know you’re gonna watch it over and over again. But, yeah, I’m lucky Susan Goforth found me for Charlie Boy and then I introduced her and Tim to Natasha.”
Morrissey Jr. goes on to add, “Natasha and I were about to debut a show in New York City with Austin Pendleton, which tested well in a preview performance, and is now on hold due to the coronavirus. Having Chrome, which I also have a great role in, with Chrome coming out, and on Memorial Weekend no less, it’s never been better than now to have a great escapist series coming out.”
“Chrome is a pure fun fantasy adventure with depth,” expresses Coppola-Shalom, “I am so proud to be playing a lead in this series. And I can’t wait for you to see the character’s inner secrets and true nature revealed over the course of the series. This is the most exciting and hyper-kinetic project I have ever had the pleasure to be a part of, and Timothy Hines’ vision and Susan Goforth’s creative talent humbles me. The two are a genius duo I hope to work with over and over again.”

“That will not be an issue,” adds Hines upon hearing Natasha’s praise. “I am developing a project for her right now and I would love to work with her until my bones are to brittle to move.” Chrome: The Series has received positive off the charts response with test audiences, no doubt in major part due to Natasha Coppola-Shalom’s fresh and unique portrayal of a small repair robot that changes the world.”
