Los Angeles, CA - May 1, 2018 - The brave are invincible, morality will win the war at the very start – TriCoast Worldwide to represent international rights for Director Tan Bing’s action thriller, ‘CHINA SALESMAN’, at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
In collaboration with Chinese company, Golden God Video & Culture Company, TriCoast Worldwide CEOs, Strathford Hamilton and Marcy Levitas Hamilton represent international rights for Tan Bing’s $20 million USD ‘CHINA SALESMAN’ to the world outside of China. Negotiations were conducted by Marcy Levitas Hamilton for TriCoast Worldwide and translated by TriCoast Worldwide’s Hengqing “Kat” Pan.
‘CHINA SALESMAN’ is an action-packed thriller telling the story about two telecom companies, MTM and DH, who compete to become the main mobile network provider of Africa, which controls the communications between the north and south and the great mineral resources of Africa. Based on the true story of giant multinationals like ZTE and Huawei, ‘CHINA SALESMAN’ “is reportedly quite shocking to the audience because there will be a cunning commercial politics of some companies,” noted Adinda Nurrizk.
The Young Chinese IT engineer and salesman, Yan Jian (Dong Xue Li), is given the task to travel to North Africa and win the competition for his company, MTM. At the convention, Yan Jian discovers that the French spy, Michael, who works for the west, has ulterior and selfish motives to win the contest. He hires the best mercenary in Africa, Lauder (Steven Seagal) and former general, Kabbah (Mike Tyson) for help. Realizing only he can stop the west, Yan Jian helps the president secure a line of communication throughout the country, to fight off the insurrection and restore peace.
Will Yan Jian be able to put a stop to their conspiracy? Or will he get caught up in the whirlwind of explosive mayhem and danger?
Attracting worldwide audiences since its trailer drop, ‘CHINA SALESMAN’ features an eight-minute, hand-to-hand fight scene between Aikido sensation, Steven Seagal and former heavyweight champ, Mike Tyson. This fight scene gem showcases “Seagal’s lightning-fast palms against Tyson’s thunderous fists,” wrote The Hollywood Reporter’s Alex Ritman, dubbing ‘CHINA SALESMAN’ as the first honoree of The Hollywood Reporter’s "Most 'AFM' Film of AFM" award.

‘CHINA SALESMAN’ is co-financed by Chinese conglomerate, Dalian Wanda Group (six-Oscar comedy ‘La La Land’), TIK and China’s state-run, China Film Group, with US support from Summit Entertainment and Lionsgates. ‘CHINA SALESMAN’ contains a worldwide cast and crew, including the lead of Dong Xue Li (‘Sacrifice’, ‘The Wonderful Wedding’), Eriq Ebouaney (‘Hitman’, ‘Transporter3’), Steven Seagal (‘Above the Law’, ‘Under Siege’, ‘Exit Wounds’) and former heavyweight champ, Mike Tyson (‘Rocky Balboa’, ‘The Hangover’, ‘Ip Man 3’).
