Over the past 10 years, Dr. Christine Zapata has earned a reputation with her patients for taking a different, more pro-active approach to chiropractic care. “I am a firm believer in patient education, with the goal being to empower people to not only get healthy but stay healthy,” Dr. Zapata says.
It is this philosophy that led Dr. Zapata, owner of Emerald City Spinal Care, a Seattle-based chiropractic and massage clinic to launch a Tip of the Week video series. “It dawned on me that I was continually getting many of the same questions from different patients. I figured if I could harness the power of the internet and social media to answer those questions, I could provide an easily accessible resource for patients, people in our local community, and beyond!” she says.

That was all the motivation Dr. Zapata needed to begin work on her Tip of the Week video blog. Over the past 6 months, she has diligently worked to answer questions ranging from how to work in the yard without hurting your back to tips on avoiding text neck.

“We realized early on that health and wellness aren’t necessarily the sexiest of topics,” said Dr. Zapata. “So, we decided to have fun with the process. We’ve done everything from using our pets as props to including outtakes at the end of most of the videos. If nothing else, hopefully, we’ll get some smiles out of people!”
New videos are released every Monday and are made available free on the clinic’s website, YouTube Channel and Facebook Page.
