Collins Road Theatres recently recorded a video of one of its auditorium remodels. The job took three days, but the final video was condensed into only 2 minutes, via a time lapse method. The video shows the auditorium at the inception of the remodeling; the theater was populated with old chairs and walls were lined with dated decor. The result at the end of the video, however, spoke volumes about what a well-executed remodeling can do to the appearance of a theater. The impetus for the video was the success of past remodeling jobs. They had three auditoriums remodeled in February 2014, and they had scheduled two more to be upgrades a year later, February 2015. But they had other plans. According to their video’s description, “The remodel was so popular that we moved up the schedule and did the other two this month.” “this month” refers to the actual remodeling date of the other two auditoriums that were upgraded in November 2014. Judging by the end quality of the remodel, it’s safe to say that they made the right decision.
The video shows installers working in a flurry to modernize the theater’s seating. At the beginning, they fully gut out the old chair fixtures and begin laying the groundwork for installing new ones. The end result was lush, perfectly aligned seats that reenergized the look and experience of the theater.
