Los Angeles, CALIFORNIA - Jan 5, 2015 – Our system is stuck. People are being pushed into polarized positions. If you can get 50% plus one you have it all. In order to do that you need to have only two options. The design source of the problem is our winner-take-all majoritarian system. The Problem: No single actor, sector or stakeholder has the answer to current challenges. Having one party get their way is a dead end street.
Using a leading edge process, groups of diverse people brought together generate "collective intelligence" and evolve in creativity and unity. Experts and officials are on tap, not on top they are available to this group for facts and know-how.
The Blindspot will present a complex problem, such as institutional racism, and film a group of diverse New Yorkers who work through their differences and come up with a statement for the city and for the nation beyond the traditional divides.
Such local and national community councils will not only help everyone involved feel represented and heard, but will even call forth the power of a whole community or country which opens up an unprecedented resource. And that is why the Blindspot team has started this powerful campaign where a donation can literally lead to world changing developments.
