Mobile phone addiction is a real issue and a Dutch team from the Netherlands has a solution in the form of a mobile app, MyPavloff, to help addicted phone users back away from the phone and get back to real face time.
The company AppRiver actually took a measurable survey in the country of Britain and found many people have a bona fide fear of being without their electronic devices. In the UK, 54% of residents report they worry when not able to see or hear their smartphones and are anxious they might even become ill without it. It was also found that 72% of people claim their smartphone is in their immediate vicinity in situations both social and rather intimate. This even spills over into office life where people in meetings are actually texting and answering emails during presentations. Ouch!
