New Haven, CT – October 08, 2014 – The members of the Forensics (Speech and Debate) Team at Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart had a strong start to their competitive season against students from around the country at Yale University on September 20. With over a thousand students competing at the tournament, a remarkable three out of the four Stuart team members made it to the finals in their respective categories to bring home awards. In Humorous Interpretation, junior Madeleine Lapuerta of Skillman received second place, and Rosalind Stengle of Princeton placed fourth. Junior Julia Weingaertner, a West Windsor resident, received seventh place in Oral Interpretation, and was a quarterfinalist in Dramatic Interpretation. Sophomore Claudary Jones of Ewing competed in Original Oratory. Coached by Stuart History Teacher Kate Barnhart, the Stuart Forensics team is excited for the upcoming season!
