The deep sea is a rare treasure trove. Du Mengran, a researcher of the Institute of Deep-sea Science and Engineering, CAS, followed China's three generations of deep-sea manned submersibles for dozens of times, and saw cold water coral forests, cold spring oases, hydrothermal chimney forests, abyssal micro-organisms, etc. with a series of new high-performance underwater exploration equipment independently developed. He also became the first witness of a large sunken ship in the Ming Dynasty that had slept in the South China Sea for 500 years.

The high-speed maglev train will fill the speed gap between 350km/h high-speed rail and 1000km/h aircraft. Deng Zigang, a researcher at Southwest Jiaotong University, has successfully developed the world's first high-temperature superconducting high-speed maglev engineering prototype in nearly 10 years, with a design speed of 620km/h.

Ji Jianghui, the project leader of the "Closeby Habitable Exoplanet Survey" (CHES), introduced that CHES is the first international space exploration mission specifically to search for habitable terrestrial planets around nearby solar like stars. During the process of collecting spiders in the mysterious cave, Professor Liu Jie from the Faculty of Resources and Environmental Science Hubei University led a team to confirm that the eye degeneration of the true cave spider in the cave is not a genetic residue, but is driven by natural selection, and the phenomenon of sustained activity of the true cave spider was discovered. As of now, they have published over 200 new species of the Crab Spider family.
