Vet Unite, the prominent nonprofit organization dedicated to serving veterans, is making an impassioned plea to communities nationwide to aid in honoring a fallen hero. Aaron Young, a valiant soldier who served with the Massachusetts National Guard in the B 181 Engineers, answered the call of duty and served with distinction in Iraq. Tragically, Aaron’s life was cut short, leaving behind three small children.
Mike Damon, founder of Vet Unite and a veteran himself, shares this heartfelt message: “Aaron Young served his country with honor and dignity during a time of war. He stood as a guardian of freedom, and we, as a nation, owe him and his family a debt of gratitude. Now, we have a sacred duty to ensure that he is laid to rest with the honor he deserves.”
Despite challenges, the persistent efforts of the Fayetteville Police Department, along with Aaron’s Army brothers, led to locating his next of kin. Now, the mission is to bring Aaron Young from Fayetteville, North Carolina, to his final resting place in the National Cemetery in Massachusetts.
Vet Unite is appealing to the compassion and generosity of individuals, organizations, and communities to contribute to this honorable cause. Any support, whether financial or in spreading the word, will make a difference in giving Aaron Young the hero's welcome he earned.
