New novel "Expiration Depot" tells a dark tale of a burgeoning industry (expiration assistance) and how Americans cope with the consequences

“Expiration Depot,” a 268-page novel by Mark Hasiuk, has been released worldwide. Set in a present-day world where America’s euthanasia laws have been struck down, the novel follows Tom Mulvey, a jaded twentysomething who becomes a highly successful expiration-assistance salesman.

With an ominous backdrop that shakes the reader’s ideas about mortality and right and wrong, the novel explores our often-dysfunctional relationships in the age of technology, the dangers of commercialism, and broad ethical questions about how society deals with suffering and death. The author’s flowing succinct descriptive style propels the writing forward, while supplemental details help build a world that is both rich and believable. Hasiuk succeeds in exposing moral dilemmas large and small through the eyes of his protagonist, bringing readers along on Tom’s tumultuous journey through the suicide business.

Expiration Depot (ISBN: 9781735948782) can be purchased through retailers worldwide, including barnesandnoble.com and Amazon. The paperback retails for $14.99. Wholesale orders are available through Ingram.
