Kuran Malhotra Supports Local Business Owners With Made In DC

Passionate philanthropist and IT enthusiast, Kuran Malhotra, continues to promote locally-made products from DC area residents through The Made In DC program

Kuran Malhotra has taken his pursuit of making a difference in society by supporting the growth of small businesses and entrepreneurs a notch higher with The Made In DC program. The initiative is designed to support local entrepreneurs and small businesses and ultimately grow the economy of the DC area.

"As a person who is passionate about promoting equity and economic equality to underprivileged communities, small business solutions for entrepreneurs, and equal voting rights for all, I have chosen to highlight the importance of the non-profits I support," said Kuran Malhotra.

Kuran Malhotra is known for his philanthropic gestures, contributing to several organizations by dedicating his resources – time and money, to support their growth and raise local awareness within numerous communities. Over the years, he has partnered with businesses and like-minded bodies to promote equity and economic equality, especially in underserved communities. His efforts and commitment to this cause have underlined the importance of the non-profits he backs.

One of the causes he supports is the Washington Area Community Investment Fund, otherwise known as WACIF. The goal of the nonprofit resonates with Kuran’s belief that everyone should have access to fair opportunities for entrepreneurship. The organization promotes equality in underserved neighborhoods in the Washington D.C. region, with Kuran helping to create awareness socially and pushing for funding as necessary.

There is also the Union County Economic Development Corporation (UCEDC), a private, not-for-profit organization that provides a plethora of financing options to the underprivileged in the New Jersey area, giving them an opportunity to grow their small businesses.

Other causes that Kuran supports include ACCION, where he pushes for the same economic opportunity for small businesses, as well as Civic Alliance Through Compass, a non-partisan group of businesses working to encourage voting in upcoming elections. Kuran works with Compass to strengthen the voting process and ensure safe and trusted elections. Kuran and fellow supporters of Civic Alliance are striving to achieve 80% voter turnout by 2028.
