The NAMM foundation's mission is to, "advance active participation in music-making across the lifespan by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving, and public service programs."

Each year the NAMM Foundation recognizes schools demonstrating similar goals with the Support Music Merit Award. The award recognizes schools that make a tremendous effort towards making music education accessible to all students. Florin High School demonstrated their passion for music and their work to provide it to all students, through its excellent music program. The school was one of only 148 schools in the United States to have their music program recognized and receive the Support Music Merit Award.

The award is a great achievement for the school, and Florin High School prides itself on their dedication to music education.
