HandyCarpet is a newly launched innovative carpet that presents an effective solution to all the regular carpet woes, including the hassle of cleaning and moving it to another place. The product is launched on crowdfunding website Indiegogo and aims to raise $35,000 in funding while offering several rewards to the backers. What makes this carpet truly unique is that it comes in small, portable and lightweight pieces that can be assembled into any size, as per the user’s requirements. The users can also mix and match two or more colors or simply keep it monochromatic, which further makes this carpet highly versatile.
HandyCarpet is created by Olga Staviskaia, a mother of two who always found it difficult to clean and manage carpets at home. The cold and humid climate of her home city Moscow, in Russia further made it difficult to dry the carpet after washing. So, to make her life easier, she decided to let her creativity fly and created an easy to operate carpet that’s easier to clean and handle than traditional carpets. She named it the ‘HandyCarpet’ which was then loved by her friends and family members. It is made from high-quality materials that make it really nice, soft and warm, suitable for cold climates.
HandyCarpet can be washed in a washing machine and dried like normal clothes. Since it is lightweight in nature, it takes much lesser time to get dried then the regular big and bulky carpets. A single piece of the HandyCarpet weighs less than 1 Kilo. It is also easier to store as all the pieces can be placed over each other, folded and kept in a corner and even carried in a small suitcase while traveling. Another problem with the regular carpets is that if something gets spilled over it, or it gets damaged at one place, the whole carpet get’s ruined. But with HandyCarpet, the user can simply replace the part that is stained or damaged by buying that one single piece.
Olga used the Handycarpet she created as a prototype and launched it on Indiegogo, with an aim to provide an easy carpet solution to several households around the world, especially the ones in colder climates and with kids. The users can customize the carpet size as per their requirements by assembling as many pieces as they want. It is made with anti-slip silicone base and stays fixed on the floor surface. The carpet can also be assembled into multiple shapes like square, rectangle, and styles like checks, striped, monochromatic, colorful etc.
