"As filmmakers we turn dreams into reality. We tell stories to inspire the world to dream, to be all we can be. And what better way to celebrate those dreams than by helping children to dream, believe and achieve," added director Timothy Hines (CHARLIE BOY, 10 DAYS IN A MADHOUSE, WAR OF THE WORLDS THE TRUE STORY).
"Tonight is about celebrating dreams in Hollywood," said host Daphna Edwards Ziman. "What we want to focus on as well is those children in our community that are so voiceless and vulnerable they're afraid to dream...tonight is so important because we want to give these children the opportunity to dream too and it's up to us. What we are asking for tonight is for everyone to get involved if by donating school supplies or money for supplies or donating a computer or give of your time to mentor a foster child and teach them life skills. Most of them have never been to a supermarket or seen the ocean...so we are asking everyone just get involved. You can become an academic mentor, life skills mentor or occupational skills mentor. It takes just one caring adult to save the life of a child at risk."
CHARLIE BOY star and co-writer Greg Kritikos, skyped in from New York where he was performing at The Broadway Comedy Club, "Timothy, Dom, thanks for representing our movie family. We love Daphna's message, what she has done with C.U.N. in getting people to mentor our community's most vulnerable children. Our film CHARLIE BOY is all about becoming a good guy, and good guys do what they can to support children. Simply as that."
