December 28, 2017 - It's a very sad fact that many animals that could be saved lose their lives due to the cost of being hospitalized and receiving proper treatment being unaffordable for the owner and/or rescue group. The number grows every day, leaving not just a loss of life, but also torn families forced to part with their animal companions. Shelter animals face even worse fates. Fortunately, some are stepping up to selflessly help this fight.
Enter Guardian Animal Hospital, a project launched by three critical care and emergency veterinarians. These professionals believe they can combine their experience and willingness to work hard to make a real difference in how animals receive treatment when financial resources are limited. The team recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe to raise the necessary resources for the Guardian Animal Hospital to open its doors and start to save the lives of the truly innocent and vulnerable.
“The day to day reality of working in many animal clinics can be heartbreaking, seeing animals euthanized because their owners simply aren't able to afford the bill to have them treated,” commented a spokesperson from Guardian Animal Hospital. “We got together, after all seeing this, and knew we could combine our talent and resources to help save animals that would otherwise be lost.”
The goal of Guardian Animal Hospital is to provide 24/7 critical care and emergency veterinary services to rescue organizations at as little cost as possible. This will help these organizations save more abandoned and suffering animals while moving toward the ultimate goal of emptying the shelters once and for all.
Guardian Animal Hospital has consulted with a number of financial experts to create a business plan designed to be self-sustaining and not drain from the resources of other, local animal rescue organizations. The GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign has set a goal of $400,000 which will be used for building acquisition, inventory purchases, diagnostic equipment and other “must haves” to see them go into action saving the lives of animals. Funds will also be used to position the hospital to be able to fulfill and expand their mission nationwide.
All three of the veterinarians who are behind the concept and campaign will be leaving their current jobs to work on the Guardian Animal Hospital project full time. In doing so they have vowed to do whatever it takes to ensure the Guardian Animal Hospital project becomes a success.
