Delhi - 14 October, 2015 - JLL India, India’s pre-eminent International Property Consulting firm, has once again marked an industry redefining initiative by collaborating with Manpower Group and EMPI Business School to introduce Certificate Programs in Facilities Management. This initiative is aimed at meeting the need for a formal academic approach to empowering aspirant candidates for a career in Facilities Management (FM), which is one of the fastest-growing real estate services verticals in India today.
These co-created training and certification modules will be delivered by combining classroom learning with live apprenticeships in leading corporates. The three Firms will jointly develop and deploy a rigorous education and placement program for aspiring FM talent.
With Indian real estate advancing towards increasing corporatization, there has been an increased demand for industry-ready FM professionals. However, this domain has so far relied heavily on unstructured ‘learn-on-the-job’ apprenticeships, without the assurance of governance or quality-imparting institutions.
The new certification program will address this gap and impart pertinent industry knowledge through a mix of both formal academic instructions and intensive practical applications. This program, essentially a guided apprenticed program role-played in a live workspace eco-system, will initially be launched in Delhi and Bangalore.
Sandeep Sethi, Managing Director - Integrated Facilities Management, JLL West Asia, is confident that this project will be a key differentiator for the FM talent landscape. He says, “This unique co-creation between industry and academia is directly aligned to Prime Minister Modi’s vision of Skill India to leverage India’s potential demographic dividend. It is also in line with JLL’s corporate citizenship and sustainability mission of triple bottom-line contribution towards people, planet and profit.”
JLL is India’s largest and most successful Integrated Facilities Management services provider, with 90 million sq. ft. under management for leading corporate occupiers and industry campuses. The Firm will provide vital inputs to the curriculum, comprising of four months of classroom training and two months on-job internship. Manpower
Group will collaborate to ensure placements and job opportunities for the graduates, whose academic interventions will be conducted at the various EMPI campuses.
“This initiative is in line with EMPI’s philosophy of Innovating Futures for Skilling India. We look forward to seeding this new area of Facilities Management in India, jointly with two global corporates such as JLL and Manpower Group,” says Pankaj Saran - Vice President EMPI Business School.
Speaking about their association with JLL and EMPI for the newly-introduced programme, Vishnu Dev, Director - Staffing, Manpower Group said, “The aim of this collaborative career programme is to bridge the skills gap in India’s thriving FM sector, as well as provide candidates with the skillsets and opportunities to mould a successful career within the FM domain. Candidates will be able to directly apply the skills they learn in the work environment.”
