A few days ago, it was revealed that the A9 chip in Apple's new iPhone 6s is manufactured by two different companies, Samsung and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC). More notably, according to a couple of YouTube videos and reports and other data from users who have compared the iPhone 6s with Samsung A9 chips to iPhone 6s with TSMC A9 chips, users have found that the iPhone 6s with TSMC A9 chips have better battery life. Some tests have revealed that the TSMC chips last as much as two hours longer than the phones with Samsung silicon inside.
Now, Apple has issued an official response that downplays the difference as only a matter of a few percentage points:
"With the Apple-designed A9 chip in your iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus, you are getting the most advanced smartphone chip in the world. Every chip we ship meets Apple's highest standards for providing incredible performance and deliver great battery life, regardless of iPhone 6s capacity, color, or model."
"Certain manufactured lab tests which run the processors with a continuous heavy workload until the battery depletes are not representative of real-world usage, since they spend an unrealistic amount of time at the highest CPU performance state. It's a misleading way to measure real-world battery life. Our testing and customer data show the actual battery life of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, even taking into account variable component differences, vary within just 2-3% of each other."
Apple believes that regardless of who made the A9 chip in your iPhone 6s, you should get battery life in line with what the company claims. The battery capacity of iPhone6s is 1,715mAh with up to 14 hours on 3G talk time and up to 10 hours on 3G internet use time, and the battery capacity of iPhone 6s Plus is 2,750mAh with up to 24 hours on 3G talk time and up to 12 hours on 3G internet use time. From this way, regardless of the 2-3% battery performance differences, battery is always not enough for you.
The one you need is not the A9 chip from TSMC, but a portable power bank with high capacity. In this respect, the Power Bank 10000CF from EasyAcc is more attractive than a A9 chip from TSMC.
The power bank from EasyAcc with 10000mAh high capacity is of an iPhone 6 plus size easy and comfortable to hold. Built-in smart technology enables it to intelligently identify the type of your device and to output suitable electric current up to 2.4 amps, so that it can charge your device at full speed. Apart from the 4 LED indicators, there is a flash light between the 2 ports to serve as a torch when needed. With approximate weight of 226g, this is one pocket/purse friendly portable unit.
Anyway, 2-3% power and battery performance difference is no big deal for the 10000mAh Power Bank with Smart Technology. If you really want to use your iPhone 6s anytime anywhere, don’t make mistake to focus on the small difference between Samsung A9 chips and TSMC A9 chips.
