Kaitlin O’Toole will be making her debut acting premiere in upcoming biopic 10 Days In A Madhouse — to be released in US theaters on November 20th — but she is no stranger to the camera. With her energetic personality and natural charm, O’Toole has made a name for herself as a host and red carpet correspondent.
She can be seen interviewing the hottest celebrities at MTV Video Music Awards and MTV Movie Awards. She also serves as the official correspondent for Fashionrocks.com, which is televised on CBS, as well as the host of Pop Crush’s New Music Minute. Her other projects include hosting Scout.com and NYC’s dance cruise Bounce Boat. As a millennial with insight on who’s who and what’s trending for the younger generations, O’Toole also serves as the collegiate correspondent for the popular award-winning entertainment company, The Blue Man Group.
10 Days In A Madhouse follows reporter Nellie Bly as she feigns mental illness in order to be committed into the infamous insane asylum for women on Blackwell’s Island. Bly goes on to expose to the world the brutality and abuse that occurred within, which ultimately went on to spark social reform. O’Toole is known for her outgoing and confident personality, but in this film we are able to see a completely different side of her with her portrayal of Margaret McCartney, a pivotal character. McCartney is deemed mentally ill and committed into the ward to seek relief but instead suffers great violence at the hands of so-called physicians and doctors. Acclaimed director Timothy Hines calls O’Toole’s portrayal of McCartney “heartbreakingly impactful.”
