Stepping Stone Montessori now has two beautiful campuses and one outstanding Montessori program. The amazing link between learning and a prepared environment is based on beauty, order, reality, simplicity, and accessibility. Our teachers work alongside the children in discovering and exploring concrete, hands-on materials designed to appeal to the children’s interest during each stage of development. Stepping Stone Montessori believes that working freely and independently is an art form that lays the foundation for all future academic possibilities.
Stepping Stone Montessori offers infant programs that can launch the true beginning of your child’s educational journey under one roof. Respect for the child is the cornerstone on which all Montessori principles rest, and respect begins in our Nido class at Stepping Stone Montessori. Our infant room is referred to as our Nido Environment. Nido means nest, a warm and secure refuge, which is exactly what our infants enjoy every day! Infants learn about the world through touch, sight, smell, taste, and sound. Daily positive experiences create greater confidence and offer the security needed for exploration and independence. Stepping Stone Montessori’s Nido classrooms and teachers are excellently prepared to care for your infant with those truths in mind. Our classrooms are large with appropriate materials, mats, and playscapes for exploration. Stepping Stone Montessori maintains a low student to teacher ratio, allowing teachers the ability to see to each infant’s needs. Engaging infants through conversation, songs, finger plays, stories, and sign language is a vital part of our baby curriculum. Our babies go on daily stroller rides and benefit from the fresh air often, weather permitting. Cuddles and laughter are abundantly a part of every day! Our teachers are wonderful and our Nido class room is beautiful!
Stepping Stone Montessori’s Toddler program recognizes that our toddlers strive for stronger independence daily and our experienced teachers foster this natural need of “I can do it myself!” Our teachers create a prepared environment daily for toddlers to explore, discover, and develop. Montessori materials introduce early learners to practical life skills, sensorial lessons, language and logic. Children have freedom of movement and are able to choose activities independently. Toddlers begin to see themselves as independent individuals and love learning new skills. Practical life activities such as setting the table, or sweeping the floor allows toddlers to develop a sense of pride and excitement about maintaining their environment at an early age. Sequencing, sorting and recognizing patterns are fun and lay the foundation for math and science skills. Toddlers experiment with different art mediums, enjoy clapping, dancing, singing to music, engage in lessons that encourage sensory and motor development, and enjoy outdoor time every day when weather permits.
The Montessori primary classroom is a “living community” for children. Children choose their work from among self-correcting materials that are very accessible on open shelves and they work in specific work areas. Child centered education that is based on the interest of the child fosters a lifelong love of learning. The primary community is made up of mixed ages like the world we live in. Children benefit from a mixed age classroom in many ways. The older children develop leadership skills when helping younger classmates, the group as a whole evolves into a family unit that is supportive and respectful of each other, and overall this environment empowers children with a stronger sense of belonging to a community.
The school is open round the year, with a facility of 12-montrh enrollments. So parents can admit their children whenever the children are ready for it. The soothing and beautifully decorated indoor and outdoor environment gives children a food for thought, thus boosting their imaginative power. Parents also love the fact that the school remains open from 6.30 A.M to 6.30 P.M, thus accommodating with their professional working schedule. The school also offer a number of enrichment activities for overall development. Children can choose from different fields of interest, including Ballet, Playball, Music, Extra Language, Gymbus and others.
Montessori is not just a school it is a philosophy. If you are looking for a different approach to preschool, Pre-K, daycare, or childcare then the Montessori philosophy may be a perfect fit for your family.
