Rancho Cucamonga, CA - Rancho Cucamonga City Council District 2 candidate David VanGorden says residents throughout the city are increasingly asking questions about homelessness, available community resources, and how Rancho Cucamonga should prepare for future challenges affecting cities across Southern California.
VanGorden, who is running against incumbent Kristine Scott and candidate DeJonae Shaw for the District 2 seat on the Rancho Cucamonga City Council, says the topic regularly arises during conversations with residents and local business owners.
“Residents are looking for thoughtful and balanced leadership on important issues facing our community,” stated David VanGorden. “Homelessness is a growing concern throughout California, and many residents want to better understand what steps Rancho Cucamonga can take to address challenges proactively and compassionately.”
VanGorden noted that homelessness can involve a variety of circumstances including economic hardship, mental health challenges, family instability, and access to support services.
“This is a complex issue that affects communities throughout the state,” VanGorden continued. “Residents want solutions that recognize the humanity of those struggling while also preserving the quality of life that families and businesses value in Rancho Cucamonga.”
According to VanGorden, many residents are interested in learning more about how local government, nonprofit organizations, law enforcement, and community groups can work together to address the issue responsibly and effectively.
“Rancho Cucamonga has built a reputation as a safe, family-oriented community with thriving neighborhoods and businesses,” VanGorden said. “Residents want to ensure the city remains prepared, informed, and proactive as regional challenges continue to evolve.”
VanGorden emphasized that open dialogue and community involvement are important parts of addressing long-term issues facing the city.
“I believe residents deserve honest conversations and practical planning,” VanGorden concluded. “By working together as a community, Rancho Cucamonga can continue protecting its quality of life while supporting responsible and compassionate approaches to difficult issues.”
