Kamika Lynette Bell, an educator and mentor, is proud to announce the release of her new book, Girls With Pearls, now available on Amazon. The book reflects Kamika’s personal experiences with faith, family, and guidance from influential mentors, offering a heartfelt message about the power of leadership and personal growth.
In Girls With Pearls, Kamika shares how supportive relationships have shaped her life. Growing up in Chester, Pennsylvania, she was surrounded by family and mentors who nurtured her values of perseverance, integrity, and compassion. “Mentorship is more than guidance; it’s about creating opportunities,” Kamika says. These principles helped her succeed in both education and community service, reinforcing her belief in the importance of surrounding oneself with positive influences.
Inspired by these experiences, Kamika established Girls With Pearls (GWP) in June 2012 to help young girls develop leadership skills, self-confidence, and a sense of purpose. Over the past decade, the program has empowered participants to excel in various areas, building strong peer connections along the way. With the release of this book, Kamika aims to inspire more young women by sharing the lessons and values she has instilled in her mentees.
Kamika’s journey reflects both academic and professional achievements. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Springfield College, graduating cum laude, followed by a Master’s in Education. Currently, she is completing her PhD in Psychology with a focus on Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Her participation in the McKinsey and Company Black Leadership Academy further strengthened her skills as a mentor and advocate for positive change.
In Girls With Pearls, Kamika offers readers stories of personal growth and insight, emphasizing the importance of faith, family, and perseverance. “Every challenge is an opportunity for redirection,” Kamika reflects. “With faith and determination, you can find the right path forward.”
