New York - 02 Oct, 2024 - Her Royal Majesty, the Olori of Warri Kingdom, has been honored with the prestigious US Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for her lifelong dedication to strengthening communities through service. She also received a Citation from Assemblyman Michael Benedetto. The ceremony took place in the Bronx, New York, on September 26th, 2024. It was originally scheduled for September 23rd, 2024. Her efforts have garnered her global awards, including a speech at the house of Lords Parliament in the United Kingdom. The Olu and Olori of Warri were invited to Concordia and Hosted at Liberty University the same week, following their recent placement of the Itsekiri Bible at the Bible Museum in Washington, D.C. on September 20th, 2024. This remarkable event signifies a deep connection between the Itsekiri people’s rich heritage and their Christian faith.
The Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA), is awarded by AmeriCorps in association with the White House. This honor is bestowed to those who serve their community selflessly. Her nomination was selected by Honoring the Greats Awards.
In a letter, US President Joe Biden wrote "on behalf of the American people, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to you for your volunteer leadership and I encourage you to continue to answer the call to serve. The country is counting on you.”
