Hangzhou to build over 200 service stations citywide for Asian Games

The visual system for "V Station", young volunteers' service stations during the Hangzhou Asian Games in September, was officially released in the host city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on March 5.

In the following months, more than 200 service stations featuring eye-catching green colors and patterns inspired by flowing waters and round lotus leaves will appear at public spaces across the city, including transport hubs, scenic spots, healthcare institutions and public squares. People can seek help from young volunteers at these stations during the Games.

The "V Station" project is an important part of the city's volunteer services. Unlike those serving sporting events, young volunteers at these stations are expected to assist with the general operation of society and provide help for a wider range of people, including local citizens and tourists.

The clothing that volunteers would wear was also unveiled. "Green, blue, yellow and white are used to represent the mountains and waters of Hangzhou," said Wu Haiyan, professor at the China Academy of Art and the main designer of the clothing.

The "V Station" project began in March and nearly 10,000 young volunteers will be recruited to participate.
