Earlier this month the veteran of the financial services industry was named with the distinction of being the Top Financial Advisor of the Southern California territory as per The Los Angeles Tribune. The award comes after Farrell stepped up her community involvement and led a mission to educate and inspire with an emphasis on helping women in her community excel with financial literacy. She also recently gave a keynote speech at SUE talking about her mission and vision.
In a year that has caused financial turbulence for many what Michele Farrell has done is stepped up to guide individuals to a more secure and prosperous future by taking responsibility and working to change the fact that the U.S. adult financial literacy level, at 57%, is only slightly higher than that of Botswana, whose economy is 1,127% smaller. Because of her hard work and dedication she was named the Top Financial Advisor of Southern California not only because of her acclaimed work for her clients but also because of the impact she is making on the community at large.
According to the Tribune: “Each year we evaluate different industries to proclaim one person that is making an impact in the community with the Los Angeles Tribune Profesional of the Year Award – Michele Farrell has earned her Award in the financial sector for consistently putting the well being of the community and her clients as her top priority.” When she was asked in an exclusive interview what her motivation was to continue with her journey in business Farrell stated: “The women I come across that need my help. These stats are crazy to me, 43% of women do not have life insurance. According to CNBC, almost 1 in 5 have nothing saved for retirement. When I sit down with anyone, especially women, I see my mom in them. I love teaching and I love solving problems. As I sit down with someone and can teach them options, they have and help them solve the number one enemy to money of procrastination, then I get, for lack of a better phrase, a warm and fuzzy feeling. I always look at that person and ask myself, is this a recommendation I would to my mom? If I can just keep one person from following down my mom’s path, then it is all worth it.”
