In July 2018, two Amphitheater High School student athletes were recognized at the AZ Central Sports Awards in Phoenix, AZ. Students were nominated to participate in the ceremony based upon their exceptional performance during competition in their respective sports during the 2017-2018 school year. The competition was tough, but Kristiana Watson and Darnell Moore both earned their spots as nominees in the state wide awards ceremony.
In addition to being nominated, Darnell Moore won the award for being the Unified Sports Athlete of the Year. Since he won, he also had to give a speech in front of a large audience. Congratulations to Kristiana and Darnell on their accomplishments!
The azcentral Sports Awards recognizes and honors the top athletic accomplishments in Arizona High School Sports. This event is hosted by azcentral and will take place June 9, 2019 at ASU Gammage. The show features various awards, contests and a special appearance from Arizona Cardinals QB, Josh Rosen.
