Atlatl Leaders Address Importance of Digital Tools to Drive Sales in Manufacturing

Murphy noted, “The customer journey is changing quite significantly with the rise of digital presence and digital tools; customers are spending more and more time doing their own research and exploring companies on their own well ahead of engaging a sales rep.”

Beaudin shared, “Sixty to seventy percent of the sales process happens before the customer even talks to a sales rep. So, it’s about getting your digital environment set, so the customer can have that self-discovery; so that when they get in front of a salesperson, they can have an educated conversation and feel empowered, feel knowledgeable, and work through that sales process and enjoy that buying experience rather than being sold to.”

Industry 4.0 continues to be recognized as the next industrial revolution and explanation for the massive digital transformation of manufacturing and factory environments. To date, this movement has largely focused on the automation of shop floor systems and support applications of additive manufacturing, 3D printing, and sensor analytics.
