After a visit to a nation-wide, chain medical spa, Dr. Ramos was surprised to find many medical spas are dropping laser tattoo removal services due to lack of results and patient discomfort. Since Dr. Ramos experiences quite the opposite in his practice, he wrote an article with the goal of educating consumers by emphasizing the importance of self-learning regarding the laser tattoo removal process and asking questions during a consultation as well as showing how he has experienced success mitigating patient pain using ice therapy.
Dr. Ramos claims that when ice is applied pre and post-firing of the laser, the numbing effect of the cold blunts the sensations to the targeted areas of the skin.
