Tattoo Removal in Tampa Less Painful with Ice Therapy

INKSTHETICARE Clinic

TAMPA, FL - In a recent article released by the Tampa area’s premier laser tattoo removal clinic, Inkstheticare Clinic, Dr. Carlos F. Ramos Jr., MD highlights his success using ice therapy as a source of pain management in his clinic.

After a visit to a nation-wide, chain medical spa, Dr. Ramos was surprised to find many medical spas are dropping laser tattoo removal services due to lack of results and patient discomfort. Since Dr. Ramos experiences quite the opposite in his practice, he wrote an article with the goal of educating consumers by emphasizing the importance of self-learning regarding the laser tattoo removal process and asking questions during a consultation as well as showing how he has experienced success mitigating patient pain using ice therapy.

Dr. Ramos claims that when ice is applied pre and post-firing of the laser, the numbing effect of the cold blunts the sensations to the targeted areas of the skin. He states that applying ice after using the laser has the ability to diminish the lingering heat sensation reducing discomfort for the patient.

“Considering its simplicity, it is astounding the difference the ice does make,” says Dr. Ramos. “In many cases, using ice as a way to minimize discomfort can actually make the laser tattoo removal procedure a relatively painless one when used in conjunction with the correct laser.”

Dr. Ramos is the founder of Inkstheticare Clinic and is one of the only licensed and actively-practicing physicians in the country that holds an accredited certification in 3D reconstructive tattooing. Dr. Ramos received his medical degree at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and completed his residency specialty training at the USF Morsani College of Medicine.
