A most authentic take on this traditional beverage
While the traditional Michelada is attributed to a bar in downtown San Luis Potosi, when a customer made his usual drink beer with ice, lemon and salt, the modern michelada was born in Monterrey. Around the 1940’s and 50’s a new beverage was served in restaurants and bars around town to offer haven from the relentless heat of this part of Mexico, a mixture of Winchester shire sauce, soy sauce and chiles was combined with beer from the local brewery with added ice, some say the name “Michelada” is the result of the simple contraction of the phrase “una chela helada, por favor” (a chilled beer, please) as it was ordered back then.
The Michilada brand refers back to this original formula keeping the liquid mix in a very retail friendly pack that has earned the love and preference of many, today michelada is one of the most popular ways Mexicans consume their beer, the first formula, a mixture of lemon and salt, is now known as Chelada, and it is also marketed by the Michilada brand.
Passionate about quality as much as flavor, the factory uses all natural ingredients selecting only the best raw materials for the preparation of all its products which are, as all the presentations of Michilada itself, FDA approved.
