NIKOLAJ COSTER-WALDAU RECEIVES FIRST EMMY NOMINATION AS HIS FEAUTRE ROLE IN ‘A 2ND CHANCE’ BEGINS ITS THEATRICAL RUN THIS WEEKEND

A 2ND CHANCE // ROCK SALT RELEASING
Oscar-winning and Emmy-nominated director Susanne Bier's Nordic noir 'A 2nd CHANCE' (En chance til) will begin its weeklong U.S. theatrical run this Friday, July 13th at Los Angeles' Arena Cinelounge and other select theaters.

Los Angeles, CA - July 12, 2018 -

The 2018 Emmy nominations are released, highlighting HBO’s Game of Thrones and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau first Emmy nomination, as Bier’s baby-snatching drama, ‘A 2nd CHANCE’ begins its U.S. theatrical run in Los Angeles this weekend.

The 2018 Emmy Nominations were released this morning headlining the first-time in 18 years that HBO hasn’t led all nominations, receiving 108 noms while Netflix took first with 112 noms. But, HBO’s Game of Thrones’ was the most nominations (22 total) for any single show at the 2018 Emmys, according to The Hollywood Reporter, with several nods including best Drama Series and Coster-Waldau’s first nomination for bestSupporting Actor in a Drama Series for his exemplary role as ‘Jamie Lannister’.

Directed by Susanne Bier (‘The Night Manager’) and written by Ander Thomas Jensen (‘All You Need is Love’, ‘In A Better World’),‘A 2nd CHANCE’ parallels two families – one, the happy family of Detective Andreas (Coster-Waldau) and – two, the young junkie-couple whose lives are far from stable. When Andreas and his drunken, divorcee partner Simon (Ulrich Thomsen) are alerted of a domestic disturbance call at the couples’ apartment, they discover their baby son neglected, starving and covered in his own excrement. But when the unthinkable happens and tragedy strikes Andreas’ son with a sudden death, he makes a sudden choice to switch and kidnap the two babies, leading down a dark rabbit hole of moral and ethical disarray. At its gritty core, ‘A 2nd CHANCE’ is a high-concept Nordic noir that exemplifies the various areas of gray within the adult moral complex and their imminent implications. Bier’s baby-snatching drama forces viewers to confront their personal notions about right and wrong, leaving the unsettling question: Who are we to think we are better than anyone else?
