Manhattan, New York - May 1st, 2018 - After a Grand Collaboration with the Governor of Manipur Ms. Najma Heptulla, NeoDocto’s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Madhukar Sanneerappa was invited by the students of Vedruna Girls Hostel of Don Bosco College at Maram. Manipur, under the leadership of Sr. Sweta William Parmar CCV who is a Programme Officer, National Service scheme at Don Bosco College in Maram. They requested him to share his experiences about his travel among other malaria endemic areas in the neighbouring states. They were curious to understand the methods to prevent the spread of malaria.

Mr. Madhukar took time to explain few staticstics about Malaria. He shared that as per the World Health Organization Report in 2015, nearly 212 million individuals were infected by Malaria and India is ranked as the top fourth country to record malaria deaths in the world. He also spoke about the various ways they can reduce malaria in their surroundings. He educated them about the dangerous complications of malaria and urged them to educate their friends, parents and relatives so that they can recognise the early symptoms of malaria and get prompt treatment.

Students appreciated Mr. Madhukar’s desire to implement his strategies in their remote villages where malaria was rampant and assured to keep their campus free from stagnant water so that mosquito breeding can be stopped.

Sr. Sweta William Parmar CCV thanked the Global President for his time and expressed her interest to take Neodocto Malaria Eradication Program to other branches of Don Bosco group of colleges.

The students showed great interest in Neodocto Malaria Eradication Program. The students were seen sharing their ideas and clearing their doubts during a question and answer session with Mr. Madhukar.  Students told that they felt very privileged to have met a CEO of an American Company, who has such big commitment towards improving quality of mankind. They took photographs and requested autographs from the Global President.

As the college is located in the rural area among the sole primitive tribe in Manipur and students from around 69 tribes attend this college, Mr. Madhukar felt that it is an excellent opportunity to educate the future generation and spread awareness about malaria eradication. In most scenarios he realised that students’ parents and their ancestors did not have any information about the lethal complications of malaria or the treatment options available, thus increasing the urgency for this campaign. Mr. Madhukar finally thanked the girls for their interest and commitment towards malaria eradication. He also congratulated Sr. Sweta William Parmar for her achievements.
