Ventura Actors Studio (VAS) is the premiere acting studio for television and film in Ventura County. VAS classes offer tv and film training by professionals in the industry as well as audition techniques for casting. Students are also given advice on how to ace auditions and land the role in television shows, films and more. Each student is trained according to their abilities and Ventura Actors Studio offers many opportunities to help students of all levels pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Students at Ventura Actors Studio have been cast in various projects produced by Founder and Head Instructor Gina Nemo who won an Emmy for her role on the original Fox hit show, “21 Jump Street.” Nemo has been producing and directing projects, mentoring and teaching actors and more for over twenty years.
Currently, Ventura Actors Studio has students from Los Angeles, North Hollywood, Thousand Oaks, Westlake, Oxnard, Ojai, Santa Barbara, New York, Carpinteria and other surrounding areas. Private and semi-private lessons are offered as well as private groups for independent schools and private functions (Ventura and Ojai). Private Skype acting lessons are also offered. Ventura Actors Studio offers students less expensive tuition than in Los Angeles acting classes so that students can afford to take on-going classes while they are pursuing their career. Founder Nemo studied with some of the greatest teachers in Hollywood who never took advantage of students financially and made it possible for many to continue following their dreams by offering more classes for less money. Classes are limited in number to make sure all students get enough feedback on their work.
Currently, Ventura Actors Studio (VAS) offers classes for adults on Monday nights and Thursday nights in Ventura. Other private lessons and private groups of various ages meet in Ojai. There are a professional kid and teen class (ages 10-16) that meets on Monday afternoons in Ventura. Students in this class have performance experience, representation (agents and/or managers) and are actively pursuing a career in television and film. Most teens and young adults study privately with Founder Gina Nemo in both Ventura and Ojai.
Ventura Actors Studio creates opportunities for students by inviting casting, special industry guests, filmmakers and more to help them gain experience and build their reels to send to casting and agents. Some VAS students have been casted in an upcoming one-night performance in “Cosmo’s Murder Mystery Tour” for The House of Magic Foundation for the Arts based in Ventura on the night of December 9th, 2017. Other classes will be added in 2018 and currently, instructor Pete Ryan is joining Gina Nemo for the Thursday night adult class. A Stage Combat & Film Fighting Intensive with special guest William Leong (Matrix Trilogy, Pirates of the Caribbean, Fast and Furious and more) will be taking place on December 16th in downtown Ventura. More Stage Combat classes will be offered early next year.
