The Amazon has removed their products, because their list “hoverboards” (battery powered, self-balancing scooters) on Amazon.com and their hoverboard listings have been removed. If they would like to resume selling hoverboards on Amazon.com, they need to provide documentation and written confirmation. The documentation is to show their list are compliant with applicable safety standards, including UN 38.3 (battery), UL 1642 (battery), and UL 60950-1 (charger) and written confirmation that they will indemnify and defend Amazon against any claims of patent infringement, and the contact information of the lawyer that will defend them against any related claims. There is no doubt that it is a devastating blow to many small and medium sized enterprises.

During recent years, with the growing popularity of the electric self-balancing scooter, the market demands exceed supply. A great number of businesspersons have imagined the fat profits behind it and some unqualified companies have assembled the products with shoddy components, even the inferior battery and charger which easily explode or lead to fire. In front of large profits, they turn a blind eye to the potential danger which is the shame of the whole intelligent electric scooter industry.
