Lake Wylie Children’s Charity Raises Fun and Profits with Unique Hair Challenge

Donors to the Lake Wylie Children's Charity have been given the chance to participate in a silly event - all to aid local kids and families.

Those who attend this year’s Lake Wylie Children’s Charity Annual Benefit Concert will get to see more than just some great local bands; the event promises appearances from a number of local personalities and other fun activities - including two hirsute gentlemen from the community potentially getting heads and beards shaved, live on stage.

In the days leading up to the October 4th concert, donors can make contributions on GoFundMe, specifying that they’re pitching in for either Bobby Stevenson or Kevin Wilhide - and whichever man raises the most funds will be fully shorn on stage at the concert.

“These two guys are nothing if not proud of their luscious locks and their full beards, and it speaks volumes that they’re willing to part with them to support our cause,” comments Jennifer Joye, Executive Director of Lake Wylie Children’s Charity.

The cause in question is helping local families of children who have been diagnosed with serious, life-threatening illnesses - including Jaxon Clark, a five-year-old with Hunter Syndrome/MPS II, and Kelsey Funderburk, a 14-year-old with a rare type of brain tumor pressing on her optical nerve.

“Come out on October 4th to show some support for these brave kids and their families, to hear some great music, to get some tasty food - and to see who gets shaved!” says Joye.

Donations in Kevin Wilhide’s name can be made on his GoFundMe page; donations in Bobby Stevenson’s name, at his.
