IndexBox Marketing has just published a new report "World: Diamonds And Other Precious Stones (Unworked) - Market Report. Analysis and Forecast to 2020"

Belgium dominates in the global trade of diamonds and other precious stones. In 2014, Belgium exported upwards of 14 tonnes of diamonds and other precious stones totaling 14.1 billion USD, 1% over the previous year. Its primary trading partner was India, where it supplied 64.0% of its total exports of diamonds and other precious stones in value terms, accounting for 51.9% of India's total imports.

From 2007 to 2014, Belgium's imports and exports of diamonds and other precious stones were about the same level. However, in physical terms, from 2008 to 2011, exports exceeded imports.

Botswana and Israel were among the other main global suppliers of diamonds and other precious stones in 2014. However, the fastest growing exporters from 2007 to 2014 were Singapore (+126.3% per year) and India (+16.6% per year). By virtue of this astronomical growth, Singapore significantly strengthened its position in the global export structure.

Belgium's top 5 trading partners in 2014 were India, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Thailand and China, with a combined 89% share of Belgium's diamonds and other precious stones exports. The share of India increased significantly (+12.1 percentage points), while the share of Israel fell sharply (-13.4 percentage points).
