This Halloween, fans of the country legend Garth Brooks in the Salt Lake City area of Utah will have the chance to take part in a once in a lifetime event. Brooks and wife Trisha Yearwood announced that they will perform at the EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City on October 29th, October 30th and October 31st. These concerts in SLC are in conjunction with the “Garth Brooks World Tour” that originally kicked off in September 2014. These two shows mark the first time that Brooks would have performed in Salt Lake City in more than 17 years.
Brooks, 53, is a native of Tulsa, OK, that has been in the music business actively since 1984 with the exception of a few year hiatus in the early 2000s. Brooks has broken records throughout his career in terms of record sales and concert attendance. This tour has continued that trend as demand for tickets has forced the country superstar to add additional dates within the same city including his Salt Lake City stop in October.
Throughout his career, Brooks has released nine studio albums, one live album, and four compilation albums that have helped him sell more than 150 million records worldwide. He is widely considered to be one of the best selling artists in American music history and has six albums that have been certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling more than 10 million units. His latest album release, Man Against Machine, was released last November and has been certified Platinum in the United States by the RIAA.
During the tour, Brooks and Yearwood have performed many of their greatest solo hits and duets. Fans of the Brooks during the tour have heard him perform songs like “The Beaches of Cheyenne,” “Rodeo,” “The Thunder Rolls,” “Friends in Low Places,” and “Longneck Bottle.” Yearwood has commonly performed such songs as “Walkaway Joe,” “She’s In Love With the Boy,” and “How Do I Live.”
The EnergySolutions Arena is formerly known as the Delta Center and is the home of the Utah Jazz from the National Basketball Association. The venue originally opened in 1991 and has also been the home of other professional sports franchises. It hasn’t only been used as a sports venue since opening as it has been the home of numerous concerts and special attractions.
